Card Size & File Requirements
Business Card Design Guide
Use this guide to make sure your business card design prints cleanly and looks professional on metal. If you already have your own design, please follow the requirements below before sending your file.
Important: If your design includes text, please tell us which fonts you used (font names + style/weight, e.g., Montserrat Bold, Roboto Regular). We cannot identify fonts reliably from an image or screenshot, and missing font info may cause delays or text changes.
1) Standard Card Size
Final (trimmed) size: 86 × 54 mm
2) Safe Zone (Keep Important Content Inside)
Safe zone: 80 × 48 mm
Keep all critical elements within this area:
Name, phone, email, address
Logo
QR codes
This leaves a 3 mm margin on all sides to prevent important content from being cut off or too close to the edge.
3) Bleed (For Print-Ready Backgrounds)
If your background color or image extends to the edge of the card, your artwork must include bleed:
Bleed size: 92 × 60 mm (3 mm extra on each side)
This prevents unwanted white borders after cutting.
4) Image Quality / Resolution
Use 300 dpi for all images and raster logos for sharp, high-quality results.
Avoid low-resolution graphics pulled from websites or social media, as they may print blurry or pixelated.
5) Fonts (Required for Customer-Supplied Designs)
If you provide your own design file, please include:
- Font names used
- Font weights/styles (Regular, Medium, Bold, etc.)
- If applicable, font files or convert text to outlines (only if you know how and want to prevent font changes)
- This helps us keep your design accurate and print-ready.
Design Best Practices (For a Clean, Premium Look)
- Use no more than two fonts
- Keep font size at least 8 pt (smaller text becomes hard to read when printed)
- Use colors and design elements moderately—overly vibrant designs can look less professional
- Include only the necessary information (clear and concise)
- If your company has a style guide, match the same colors, fonts, and branding
- Leave at least 3 mm space from the edge (don’t place important elements too close)
- If using photos/raster images, ensure they are 300 dpi
- Double-check all phone numbers, emails, addresses, and spelling before approving
Recommended Font Sizes (Print-Friendly)
Printed cards often look smaller than they do on screen. These sizes are a safe guide:
Name & Company Name: 10–16 pt (12 pt is a common standard)
Job Title: 9–10 pt
Contact Info: 8–9 pt (avoid below 7 pt)
Small Print (T&Cs): minimum 6 pt
